My friend the type genius had already informed me of Eric Gill's predilection for his children and dog (and he still claimed to be a faithful catholic. Lotta hail Mary's, I guess). Gill Sans & Perpetua still rock.mrtnhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12517667489664163136noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-23631803.post-37926761426920206512007-06-20T10:13:00.000-05:002007-06-20T10:13:00.000-05:00mmmmm -- bauhaus.but given your fondness for gill ...mmmmm -- bauhaus.

but given your fondness for gill sans, Martin, I hate to be the one to break the news about Eric Gill »

lola: how long have you been working with this planner? and she doesn't know your name? not to freak out on you, but -- WTF?!?! ;)suttonhoohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17292408097588177380noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-23631803.post-73812349922217038392007-06-18T09:23:00.000-05:002007-06-18T09:23:00.000-05:00Hey I just read this and can't wait to go there. ...Hey I just read this and can't wait to go there. after working in a sign shop, type has become another one of those things I can't get enough of.

B is a big fan of Garamond as well. I have incredible difficulty remembering what I like so I won't bother trying.

Our invites are in Papyrus, the pronunciation of which has been much debated with many people.
Usually I don't like these types of font but somehow it worked very well. (didn't stop the wedding "planner" from leaving a message yesterday, calling me by my sister's name no less, to make sure that was the font I wanted on the table cards)Lolabola*https://www.blogger.com/profile/05963109907514760086noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-23631803.post-29818389185387518672007-06-18T02:55:00.000-05:002007-06-18T02:55:00.000-05:00Yeah, that's just typical. But if I had to choose a grotesque, my current favourite is Gill Sans.

Oslo has beautiful type. It's a city which still bears a lot of design markers from the 50's. Lot's of capitalized, geometric sans serifs. Futura &tc. Bauhausy stuff.mrtnhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12517667489664163136noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-23631803.post-35631923446268064662007-06-18T01:17:00.000-05:002007-06-18T01:17:00.000-05:00Oh, you....
