I saw no evidence of a radical streak, either overt or covert, when we were together at Harvard Law School.
Bradford A. Berenson, who served as associate White House counsel under President Bush and who worked on the Harvard Law Review with Mr. Obama, quoted in this morning's New York Times piece regarding Obama's association with former Weatherman Bill Ayers.
Ayers is now a professor at the University of Illinois, an advocate for school reform, and the author or editor of 15 books.
The piece continues: "Mr. Berenson, who is backing Mr. McCain, described his fellow student as 'a pragmatic liberal' whose moderation frustrated others at the law review whose views were much farther to the left."
Obama and Ayers live in the same Hyde Park neighborhood in Chicago. Their association, which the New York Times describes as "not close", is invoked in an ad that the McCain Campaign broadcast on Friday as part of McCain's effort to spread fear, uncertainty and doubt among voters.
Update: Sarah Palin, in her response to the New York Times piece, proves that she's lower than low. Watch the video » Read the piece that accuses Palin of exaggerating and using racist language to further her campaign goals »
