I was one of them, albeit in the non-VIP section of the park. My inability to contact you via pay phones was one of the main reasons I soon gave in and bought a mobile phone.

It was a great night that has since lost a little lustre for me, but I still recall my excitement mixed with the chilling memories of the history of Grant Park forty years earlier.

And the mess that was left behind; feeling so ashamed for this country's lack of real environmental awareness.

And how I got no sleep wandering around the city until morning, when I could take a nap in Union Station upon its opening. My train wouldn't depart for another half a day.

I would trade none of it, though.
