To give the young sisters out there born with the gift of invention the chance to become the next Orville and Wilbur Wright.
To give the young boy out there who wants to create a life saving cure the chance to become the next Jonas Salk.
To give the child out there whose imagination has been sparked by the wonders of the Internet the chance to become the next Bill Gates.
Why my president, Barack Obama, is in this race.
(Let’s just hope that kid with the sparked imagination stays away from making bad commercials with Jerry Seinfeld.)
Barack Obama’s Dayton, Ohio speech on Education is worth listening to if you care about learning and education and children and our future. It’s worth listening to if you care about ideas and you know that knowledge in the hands of good people who have learned how to think can change the world.

I think he was reaching across the aisle when he mentioned Bill Gates. 'Cuz his demographic is mostly Steve Jobs, isn't it? ;)
let's hope he was talking to his people, and that the Mac folks don't mind too much -- 'cause for all its passion the Mac demographic is sorely outnumbered by the PC demographic.
and we're gonna need a sh*tload of demographics to win this thing. ;)
besides: isn't it time we put our platform partisanship aside? ;)
to give the average hockey mom out there the chance to become the next abraham lincoln
no, he didn't say that, did he?
this is the kind of thing i have been looking for, the kind of stuff that had me excited earlier. i am glad that stuff like this is getting said. more the better. thanks for bringing attention to it.
Unfortunately the President only has incidental influence on eductaion. In my opinion we should pick presidents mostly on foreign policy- they have huge latitude to screw that up for the whole country for years to come.. The current administration is a glowing example of how bad that can be.
