Heading out of Grand Junction, CO at the ungodly hour of 6.30 AM, the sky lit up like fire before us on I-70. This is just a hint of the color that was to come, chasing up cloud tendrils into the sky.
By mid-afternoon I'll be on a flight to the flatlands Chicago, leaving the American west, and my family, behind.
So far I'm not handling it well.
